Faith is important in our everyday life, much of life is lived with great a degree of faith. Faith helps us to navigate life in a way that makes life less frightening. We don’t question if a chair will hold us as we prepare to sit in it.
we don’t question whether we will be hit by a car while crossing the street. We don’t question as we drive to work whether we will arrive safely. Without ever thinking about it, we just do what we do.
So why is faith so important to life? Faith is important because faith frames who we are, our existence, our values, our hopes and our dreams. Faith is quite calm before a storm, faith is the anchor in the storm.
There is a misconception that faith is all about winning. Faith is not a game of the winners versus the losers, but faith is that inner resolve of believing that no matter the outcome you are in the hands of God.
Belief and faith strengthen the motivation to act, do things and help you maintain the positive attitude necessary for success. Faith is important, but faith alone is not enough for success, you also need willpower, discipline and persistence. You will also need to take positive action to show your faith.
Sometimes in life it can be hard to find a path during prayer because our minds become too clouded with the everyday emotions of our lives.
I find myself often in the midst of prayer, saying the words, but my mind will be wondering, not focused on Christ. But if you have faith it will make you believe with your heart and not the heard for faith is known to be a spiritual force.
Faith is very important during prayer because it opens up the door for the Lord to come into our souls, we must allow the lord to enter into our souls through prayer so that he can intercede into our daily lives especially when we run into the temptation of sin which is when we need him the most.
An individual can have all of the different types of faith from time to time, while they might overlap, there is always a dominant one operating in a person’s life.
To start with, there is doctrinal faith which is the kind of faith a person has that is based on the word of God and the teachings of the Bible.
Secondly, there is the saving faith this is the type of faith that results from having believed and confessed that Jesus died and God raised him from the dead, thirdly we have justifying faith which is the belief that you have been forgiven and cleansed by God as if you had never sinned.
There is the indwelling faith which is known as practicing the presence of God at all the times. It is experiencing communion with God and believing that he is always with you. When you have indwelling faith, you can be like David in psalm 23 vs 4 that God is with you even when you walk through the valley of the shadow of death and the last one is daily faith. It is something that happens daily, that happens every single day. Daily faith is believing that God is meeting your needs on a day to day basis even when it is not evident.
The faith you have is your personal attachment to God. it is your umbilical cord to his blessings. God wants you to rely on him and also be committed to him.
