Faith continued….

‘Where is the boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith’ Romans 3;27.

When we look at natural or scientific laws, like the law of gravity, aerodynamics, Newton’s law of motion they are laws that work consistently every time without fail.

FAITH also is a law which when operated properly works every time without fail. By using the law of faith we can obtain any of the promises of God, including healing, deliverance from sin, forgiveness from sin, justification of salvation.

It works on the same basis as natural laws and that is what God ordains that it works. Faith is the means by which we can obtain any of the promises of God and there are some basic conditions for faith in God to work. These do not all apply in every case, but most of them will.

Faith must be based on what God said. Numbers 23;19. if we base our faith on something other than God, sword, such as man’s word or circumstances, or things we can see, then we have a faulty base, because things can change. However, God said ‘my covenant will I not break nor alter anything that is gone out of my lips’.

Sometimes we must ask. Matthew 7;7-8. we do not have to ask for everything. When we ask we must therefore ask in faith without doubting and in accordance with God’s will. For God to guarantee us an answer as far as our salvation is concerned.

Sometimes we must command Mark 11;23. here we see a different use of faith. There are times such as when we cast demons out of people, that we should command rather than ask using the authority that Jesus gave us.

We must believe that we are receiving when we pray or command. Mathew 21;22. There are two things that these scriptures tell us that we need to believe in firstly that, what we say comes to pass, therefore if we pray and believe that God has answered our prayers then we should confess what we believe is about to happen or has happened.

Secondly concerning our salvation the word of God lists several things that we need to believe to be saved that is believe in Jesus Christ, believe the truth, believe the gospel, believe that Jesus is the son of God just to mention a few beliefs

We must confess what we believe. Romans 10 9-10. Demons don’t come out by believing that they will and just looking at the person oppressed, words have to be spoken the reason is that words are spirit, just as Jesus said ‘the words that I speak to you they are spirit and they are life ‘and if we want the spirit of god to move our situations, then we must speak the word of God out of our mouths just as Jesus did. when we do this with a believing heart, God will bring to pass what we speak.

We must act upon what we believe and confess. James 2;17-26. acting upon what we believe and confess is a very important part of faith and without it our faith is dead and will obtain us nothing as far as our salvation is concerned, we must not only confess what we believe in but must also act in accordance with what we believe and confess.

This means that we must obey the words of Jesus, because we cannot fulfil his commandments to love without doing it, Jesus’ words will judge us on the last day and salvation is only for those who obey him.

Lastly, we must endure to the end Matthew 24;13. sometimes miracles can happen instantaneously, and they require no endurance. Jeremiah waited ten days for the word of the lord to come to him to answer the request of the captains of Israel. This is why the testing of our faith is more precious than gold.
