MIDLANDS – The three clubs participating in the ZIFA Castle Lager Premier Soccer League had a fairly good start to the new season with two of them registering draws and the other losing with a controversial goal.

Four time champions FC Platinum got a point in their away fixture against reigning champions Simba Bhora FC after a nil all draw.

Newbies Kwekwe United FC held former champions Ngezi Platinum FC to a one all draw in their first game in the new era having conceded the earliest goal of the season in the eighth minute. However they showed character and restored parity.

TelOne would feel let down by poor officiating after suffering a 2-1 loss to Herentals FC which saw the match being stopped for some minutes after the controversial incident.

FC Platinum Coach Norman Mapeza said he was happy with the point away from home.

“I am more than happy with the point. The pitch was a bit heavy, first half we played quality football”, he said.
