“The case was withdrawn before plea because the State had no sufficient evidence to proceed with prosecution”, said Matenhese.

“I was emotionally damaged and the allegations were traumatizing me and it will not be easy to heal from such damages in the near possible future,” said a distraught Bishop Matenhese.

He said that, since 2021 he had hoped for a quick conclusion of the matter as it was draining him physically and financially.

He also added that since the case has been withdrawn they are now going ahead with the distribution of the estate so that all the children of the deceased benefit from his wealth.

“Since the case has been withdrawn and as the executor I am going ahead with the distribution of the estate as stated by the Master of High Court so that we do not exclude any of his children in benefitting from their deceased father’s wealth”.

Bishop Matenhese has been in and out of court for the past two years facing fraud allegations after he was accused of allegedly forging signatures for the estate of transport mogul, Tanda Tavaruva authorising him among other things to sell stands in Brooklands low density suburb along Zimuto Road.
