In a heart-wrenching incident, a former nurse at White District Hospital, Simbisai Shumba aka Chitope from Mkwasha Suburb in Zvishavane has taken his own life early this morning (12/9/24).
A close friend to the deceased confirmed the suicide on condition of anonymity since he is not the family spokesperson.
He was 37.
“Shumba was found hanging at home with an electric cable on a tree this morning and the body is being taken by the police to hospital,” said the source.
The incident comes hard on the heels of Chitope being deserted by his beloved wife and some theft allegations were hanging over his head as well.
He had been kicked out of the matrimonial home and had been staying in his car most of the time at Jaravaza shopping centre.
He is survived by two children a boy and a girl.
