CHIMANIMANI-Towards Sustainable Use of Resources Organization (TSURO) Trust celebrated International Women’s day in style, showcasing the impactful work they have done in empowering women in Chimanimani district.

At Bumba Secondary school, the organization highlighted significant strides made through their Nature Plus project.
From promoting climate-resilient livelihoods to fostering women’s leadership. TSURO Trust’s achievements are making waves. Women in Chimanimani are now equipped with knowledge in sustainable farming and resource management, boosting food security and income generation.
Their initiatives have seen women taking up leadership roles, driving community development and promoting gender equality.
TSURO Trust Nature Plus acting project manager Farai Gumisai noted visible development in Chimanimani.
“We support women-led initiatives and they are driving our programs. Empowering women is key to sustainable development,” he said.
The organization’s agro-ecology and conservation farming training has improved agricultural practices, while economic empowerment projects like poultry farming and vegetable production are enhancing women’s economic independence.
TSURO Trust’s commitment to gender equality and social inclusion is evident in their advocacy and community engagement efforts. As they continue to empower women, the impact is felt across Chimanimani district.
The Nature Plus Project, implemented by TSURO Trust courtesy of funding by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) through the Canadian Food Grains Bank (CFGB) and the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF), has its engine on Agroecology thematic anchored on 55 lead farmers.
