Privately owned top educational institution Edrovale College’s Tinevimbo Mavetera representing Masvingo North Constituency has made history by landing the prestigious Vice President’s post in the country’s junior cabinet.

The closely contested elections were held at the new parliament building in Mt Hampden, Harare where junior parliamentarians gathered to elect a full cabinet which saw Lionel Mazarire of Chinhoyi Technical High in Mash West Province landing the president’s post.

Lionel replaces Pious Nleya of Mzilikazi High in Bulawayo who served as the 32nd president of the junior parliament.
Riverton Academy, a private institution which produced the best Cambridge results in 2024 in the country according to the British Council has Tinotenda Machakaire as the junior Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Development.

Riverton director Philemon Mutangira was excited about the appointment and wished him better prospects in his future assignments.
“As an institution we are very happy with the appointment of Tinotenda into the junior cabinet. That is a vote of confidence for the academy and we wish this will culminate into bigger things for the student as he pursues other opportunities in life. We hope he will land the bigger post in society as he grows up because he has already shown good leadership qualities by raising the school’s flag high,” said Mutangiri.

New kid on the block Gutu based private college, Fambisai Christian Academy which is along Harare road defied the odds when its leaner, Nokutenda Dzikiti was elected Deputy Minister of Skills Audit.
Fambisai Academy principal Engelbert Chimbwari expressed gratitude for Nokutenda’s landmark achievement in their second year of existence.

“Naturally we are over the moon, she has put the school on the national map by landing the national post. As a new school this is a milestone achievement and we are very proud of it,” said Chimbwari.

Hebron head Christopher Tambura expressed gratitude for Mercy Takaendesa’s elevation to the post of Deputy Minister of ICT and paid tribute to Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi’s vision of prioritizing education as witnessed by the number of ZCC run schools dotted around the country.

“It is pleasing that the girl child has raised the school’s flag high, we are proud of her. We also thank the responsible authority for giving the girl child the opportunity to shine at the highest level,” said Tambura.
Hippo Valley High in Chiredzi’s head, Luckson Gondo said Takudzwa Luvunga who is the Deputy Minister of Information and Publicity exhibited leadership qualities through strong debating skills.
“This is fantastic, and we are proud of his achievement. We were not surprised to hear that he was elected a junior minister as he has been leading the debate club with a passion. He is well organised and focused and can tackle any debate topic with ease,” said Gondo.
