The Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League (PSERSL) will conduct training workshops for club media officers and club safety and security officers as part of efforts to strengthen professionalism, communication and safety standards across its affiliated teams.
The workshops will be held at Flamboyant Hotel, with media officers scheduled for March 7 and club safety and security officers (CSSO) training set for March 8.
Speaking to The Midweek Watch, PSERSL administrator, Fungai Munyoro-Chingaira said the initiative is aimed at improving the way clubs handle media relations while also ensuring that matchday environments remain safe and compliant with football regulations.
“The workshops are aimed at strengthening professionalism, communication and safety standards within our clubs.”
“Media officers play a key role in promoting the league and ensuring accurate and timely information reaches the public while club safety and security officers are responsible for ensuring that matchday environments are safe and compliant with football regulations,” said Munyoro-Chingaira.
She said the training will equip club officials with practical skills to effectively manage media relations, improve matchday communication and enhance safety and security at football venues.
Munyoro-Chingaira added that representatives from all 20 affiliated clubs will take part in the workshops.
“In total, we are training representatives from all 20 affiliated clubs. Each club will be represented in the media officers workshop and the same applies to the Club Safety and Security Officers,” she said.
She further noted that venue Safety and Security Officers from selected match venues have also been included in the programme to ensure that safety standards are consistent across the league.
The training comes as the league continues to strengthen administrative capacity and professionalism within clubs ahead of the upcoming season that is set to kick off on March 21.
