Driver vanishes with employer’s 30t truck

MUTARE-A daring truck driver, Shepherd Kambarami (40) has vanished with Itai Madondo’s 30 ton haulage truck after he was sent to ferry timber from The Wattle Company in Nyanga.

Manicaland Province police deputy spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka told The Midweek Watch that on 29 November this year Madondo who stays in Faibridge Park in Mutare sent Kambarami to The Wattle Company Nyanga to collect timber at around 8am.

Madondo gave Kambarami his wife’s white Volvo 30 ton truck and trailer registration numbers ABN 2748 and AFQ 2804 respectively.

Kambarami went to Nyanga and found that there was a long queue of haulage trucks at The Wattle Company waiting to be loaded and he drove off the premises to an unknown destination without notifying the owner.

On December 7 at around 2pm Madondo received a call from The Wattle Company advising him that he should bring his truck for loading but the truck was not there including the driver.

He made a report at Mutasa police station and the value of the stolen property was put at US$47 795 and nothing was recovered.
