Sydney Shava (30) of Mhike Village in Zvishavane was thrown out of the Massey Ferguson Tractor and died on the spot on May 11 after hitting a hump whilst driving at around 3:30pm, on an unknown dust road near Zone 14, Triangle.
ZRP Masvingo Province Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the fatal accident.
On the fateful day, Shava was driving due south, going to Farm 43 in Triangle, towing three farm trailers with one passenger on board.
Upon arrival at Zone 14, the driver hit the hump and was thrown out of the tractor and was run over by the left wheels of the trailers.
Shava sustained head injuries and died on the spot.
Police attended the scene, and the body was transferred to Chiredzi District Hospital.
The passenger on board was not injured.
According to Inspector Dhewa, tractors have a speed limit of 30 km/hr, so this shows he was speeding, we urge members of the public not to overspeed on bumpy roads.
