ZAKA-Vhurumuku villagers under Chief Bota were left shell shocked after a donkey fatally kicked a five year old female juvenile.
Letwin Rutungo (5) was kicked by a donkey when her mother, Svodeso Chakohwa (48) had left her at home with her 12 year old sister as she went to muster the cattle for penning at around 5pm on May 14.
Masvingo Province Police spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the sad news to The Midweek Watch.
Chakohwa left the two juveniles playing in the field at the homestead as she went to muster the cattle.
As they were playing in the field there was a donkey as well which went on to kick Letwin Rutungo who fell on a hard surface and became unconscious.
The 12 year old girl ran to inform the mother about the incident and when they returned they found her unconscious.
She sustained a fractured right hand and bruises on the back of her body.
The mother immediately ran with her to Musiso Mission Hospital unfortunately upon arrival she was pronounced dead.
The Police were informed and the body is awaiting postmortem.
