ZVISHAVANE-The name Quedisani Dirwai is becoming synonymous with referring controversy as another match between FC Platinum and Dynamos was abandoned following his contentious decision.

Quedisani Dirwai a referee who was involved in a controversial incident during a match between Scottland FC and Chicken Inn on May 23, 2025, was at it again when he awarded FC Platinum a penalty in which Dynamos fiercely protested.
The match was a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 17 and it was one all with 5 minutes of normal time to play.
There was tussle for the ball between Emmanuel Jalai and Oscar Bhebhe which saw Jalai falling first in his own penalty box followed by a shirt pull by Bhebhe who was allegedly subsequently fouled by Jalai resulting in the referee pointing to the spot.
The decision did not go down well with Dynamos who walked out of the pitch resulting in the match being abandoned after 13 more minutes were added.
The game was screened on ZTN Prime and the replays showed that Jalai was fouled first but Dirwai had other ideas.
Though the decision by Dynamos to storm out of the pitch is unacceptable as it will cost them points and a fine, it seems like it was a good move to push the PSL to introduce VAR as soon as yesterday especially with the same referee getting teams points via the boardroom instead of the football pitch.
The Scottland – Chicken lnn match was abandoned in the 89th minute after Dirwai awarded Scottland FC a penalty, which was disputed by Chicken Inn players. Following the penalty award, the referee also attempted to shift the direction of the penalty kick, which is against the rules of the game.
The decision for the game is still to be granted and Dynamos will be summoned by the PSL.
