NetOne Pvt Ltd, a leading mobile service provider, recently hosted a Vision 2030 intergenerational summit where Chief Executive Office Engineer Raphael Mushanawani highlighted Zimbabwe’s pivotal moment in its development trajectory.

Speaking at the event, Mushanawani emphasized that the country’s future hinges on digital transformation, industrialization and inclusive human capital growth.
Mushanawani stated that NetOne was proud to be at the forefront of this transformation, not just as a service provider but as a national enabler of opportunity.
“As NetOne, we are proud to be at the centre of this transformation- not merely as a service provider, but as a national enabler of opportunity. We are deploying the foundation of digital infrastructure that will carry the next generation into the future they deserve. The youth of today are the leaders of our digital tomorrow and our role is to equip them with the tools, the skills and the platforms that ensure they thrive in a connect end world,” narrated Mushanawani.

The summit’s theme ‘Intergenerational Dialogue,’ underscored NetOne’s mission to bridge the gap between generations through technology.
Mushanawani highlighted NetOne’s efforts in promoting responsible digital citizenship particularly in smart agriculture and mining. The company has empowered young farmers to leverage mobile technology to access vital information, while smart mining, digital tools are enabling young Zimbabweans to participate in the mining value chain responsibly and efficiently.
“NetOne measures success not by the number of towers we erect, but by the number of lives we transform. In Smart Agriculture we are empowering young farmers to use mobile technology to access weather forecasts, digital mapping and land-use information- helping them make informed decisions and increase productivity. In Smart Mining, technology is now the pickaxe. Digital surveying, claim management and prospecting tool are enabling young Zimbabweans to participate in the mining value chain responsibly and efficiently,” Mushanawani said, acknowledging the contributions of other ICT players in the ecosystem.
He emphasized that Zimbabwe’s growth depends on effective partnerships and harnessing technology for the greater good.
Mushanawani pledged NetOne’s continued support for programs building skills and confidence in young people, emphasizing that intergenerational dialogue is about exchanging responsibility.
“The baton has been passed to a new generation- one that must run a digital race, equipped with skills guided by values and driven by purpose,” he said, underscoring the company’s commitment to empowering Zimbabwe’s youth.
