ZVISHAVANE – Detective Constable Darlington Makoshori has been crowned the Zvishavane District 2023 cop of the year, The Midweek Watch can reveal.
He was announced cop of the year at the event held at ZRP Zvishavane Canteen on Tuesday.
The event was graced by Mimosa general manager, Engineer Stephen Ndiyamba and Mimosa head of human resources George Mawere.

The award which is sponsored by Mimosa Platinum Mine is to recognise Police officers who are outstanding in their efforts to reduce crime in Zvishavane District.
Zvishavane Police District comprises Buchwa, Mataga, Mberengwa, Zvishavane traffic, CID and ZRP Zvishavane.
Makoshori cleared cases ranging from armed robberies which saw some of the accused persons being convicted.
Makoshori walked away with US$100 cash, a refrigerator and a certificate. However he had won other awards in the monthly awards including finishing third in September 2022 where he walked away with $60, also third in November 2022, second prize in December 2022 where he walked away with $80, third in February 2023 and first prize in March 2023 where he walked away with $100.
Engelina Sibanda was the first runner up with Gwauraya Tobias the second runner up.
Makoshori said it’s an honor to be recognized and is happy to have been named cop of the year.
“l feel honored to have won the accolade it motivates me to work more”, he said.
Makoshori dethrones Dominic Shuro who won the prestigious accolade last year.
