DEAR EDITOR-Dynamos FC’s decision not to participate in the CAF Competition is great and must be applauded. This a decision which must be thanked by all Stakeholders.
Zimbabwe must first have standard soccer stadium for home teams to use. What is the reason to participate in CAF Competition whilst using foreign countries stadium?
Dynamos FC survives mainly on gate takings. Dynamos is a supporter driven team. If it has no supporters then Dynamos FC doesn’t exist.
Dynamos FC has acted responsibly and patriotically. Dynamos FC is true Zimbabwean football club and therefore cannot sell its birth right to please irresponsible politicians and Zifa .The politicians must invest in sporting facilities for Dynamos FC to play at home.
The sovereignty of Zimbabwe is unchangeable nor sold for few pieces of silver. Dynamos FC should remain with the liberation struggle spirit it had during the liberation war. Dynamos FC was formed as a resistance to white football domination and political segregation. Dynamos FC has been a people’s project. Dynamos FC can’t be divorced from the people by irresponsible politicians and Zifa who are failing to facilitate the team to play in front of its supporters. The issue of CAF standard stadiums cannot be overemphasized.
The government has completed National Sports Stadium on press conference but nothing physical happening .Vice President Kembo Mohadi was the last highest office promising Zimbabweans that by July the stadium will be open for international games. We are only days away left but nothing positive is showing signs that NSS will be open for games.
Those who would like to blame Dynamos FC for pulling out of CAF Competition must shift the blame to the politicians and Zifa.
