Councilors to become MPs

GWERU-Two City of Gweru councilors have been nominated to represent Mkoba North and Gweru Urban constituencies in the just ended Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) nominations held last week.

In Mkoba North ward 11 Councilor Albert Chirau was nominated to battle it out with the incumbent Member of Parliament and party’s interim national organizing secretary Amos Chibaya.

Former mayor and current ward 2 councilor Josiah Makombe also got nominations to represent Gweru Urban constituency together with Taurai Demo.

Livingston Chimina and Chiwundura constituency legislator received nominations to represent Mkoba South constituency and will fight it out with Edward Ganyani and council employee John Kuka.

Current Kwekwe MP Judith Tobaiwa and former Kwekwe Mayor also received nominations to represent the constituency.

Corban Madzivanyika will battle out with Mbizo Legislator Settlement Chikwinya as both sailed through the first stage of nominations.

Meanwhile former local Government Deputy Minister in the inclusive government and incumbent interim CCC Vice Chairperson Sesel Zvidzai was overwhelmingly nominated for …senatorial post in Midlands Province.
