GWERU- Sheasham FC aka Construction Boys have beefed up their technical bench by adding assistant coach, Rueben Njavera from Zambia to increase their chances of challenging for honours in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
Njavera is former Zambia Under 17 and 20 assistant coach and will assume the role of the first team assistant coach deputizing John Nyikadzino. This was confirmed by the Construction Boys chairman Reginald Chidavanyika during a presser on Friday at Gweru Sports Club.
Njavera worked as a statistics coach for Zambian side Kansanshi Fc in 2019 and he also worked as a welfare officer for Choma FC.
Chidawanyika said the club was waiting for formalities to be completed for the Zambian gaffer’s work permit to start his duties in the Midlands Province.
“We have identified Reuben Njavera as the first assistant coach to our team, he has a CAF A coaching licence so he will be joining us.
“Now we are awaiting for the formalities to be completed for him to join us. Once the immigration department has completed their paperwork and his work permit is out, he will be joining us hopefully sometime next week.
“So, everything else is done and dusted and they now only await the coach to get his work permit.” he added.
Since the beginning of the season Sheasham had been searching for an assistant coach as they couldn’t get the perfect candidate in line with the stipulated qualifications.
Two weeks ago the Construction Boys managed to secure their first win against army side Cranborne Bullets at Baobab Stadium, a development which brought the much need relief to city of progress based Premiership debutants.
