GWERU – The City of Gweru has taken delivery 3 fire tenders which were controversially bought from Belarus by the government using ‘devolution funds’ last year at an amount yet to be disclosed.

The new fleet adds to four other vehicles which were already working, including the other newly purchased fire tender which was bought at a cost of US$70k last month.

Confirming the development to The Midweek Watch, Gweru Mayor, Cllr Martin Chivhoko said the new fleet of fire tenders will be commissioned soon.

“We received three fire tenders bought by government from Belarus through the devolution funds.

” The fire tenders will be commissioned tomorrow at the Gweru Civic Centre “he said.
