CHIVI GROWTH POINT-Residents of the sprawling Chivi Growth Point were left with their mouths dry after an elderly woman was allegedly caught red handed urinating in her neighbour’s only drinking water well while naked.
The bizarre incident happened on May 27 this year and residents have called for her to be chased from the area.
Patience Jakwi (65) of house number 823, New Residential stands was allegedly caught red handed by her neighbor in her birthday suit splashing urine and faeces into her neighbor’s well.
The well’s owner Tendai Masiya confirmed the shocking incident to The Midweek Watch, but said she did not report the matter to the Police for possible prosecution.
Narrating her story Masiya said her elderly neighbor would allegedly use all kinds of weird stuff to defile her well since last year in August and they have since been forced to abandon their only source of clean water due her stranger than fiction behaviour.
“On May 26 my brother, Wisdom Maranda who is a solider in Masvingo came to my place in Chivi where and we hatched a plan to stay awake at the well in order to catch our culprit. “We stayed outside the whole night without anything taking place.
“It was only at around 0445am when we heard our neighbor’s door opening. I was now sure it is my neighbor because at one point I caught his son pouring urine at my fire place.
“In no time we saw our neighbor climbing over the perimeter fence into my yard while stuck naked holding a bucket in her hand.
“We watched as she performed her rituals. When she had finished, my brother flashed her with torch light and that is how we caught her.
“We called our neighbors to come and witness. Upon question she said she was chasing away some wild cats which were preying on her poultry chickens.
“Later on she changed her statement and started apologizing, pleading for mercy blaming the whole act on some spirits which pushed her to do it.
“I do not want her arrested but I want her to give me a valid reason why she was doing it and also to be kicked out of the community,” said Masiya.
“I do not know for how long this woman has been doing this to my family. But some time last year in August my child filled the water buckets but forgot to put them inside the house and in the morning we found some urine on top of water buckets while some of the water had urine like colour.
“We were left dumfounded with none to blame as this went on for some time and on other days we would find human waste and muti mixed with blood sprinkled on top of the well or even rags thrown in the water,” said Masiya.
A neighbor who refused to be named for fear of reprisals from the alleged witch said it was very shocking that some people can go out of their way to do such things on a neighbor.
She went on to say the elderly woman in question’s behaviour has always been strange as she does not associate with others in the neighborhood and was always keeping to herself.
