CHIVI-George Mutiziva (25) from Headman Handizvihwi in Chivi hung himself following a dispute with his wife over her level of cleanliness at home.
The incident occurred on the 13th of February at around 1930 hours when George Mutiziva reportedly had an argument with his wife, Sheron Musengiwa over cleanliness issues at their home.
It is alleged that during the dispute, George assaulted Sheron.
On the 14th of February, Sheron reported the matter of domestic violence to the police.
Later that day, at around 1320 hours, a passerby reportedly discovered George’s body hanging from a mukwakwa tree branch. The matter was reported to the police, who attended the scene.
The body was taken to Chivi District Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
ZRP Masvingo province deputy spokesperson Assistant Inspector Masauso Patinyu urged members of the public to seek peaceful and lawful ways of resolving domestic disputes.
He emphasized that violence in domestic settings is not tolerated and encouraged couples to engage in dialogue or seek counselling when facing challenges in their relationships.
