CHIVI-IT HAS BEEN an eventful week for the dusty Chivi Growth Point, as another girlfriend was caught red handed by her lover with another man and was murdered in cold blood at around 11am on February 11.
Sources told The Midweek Watch that Vongai Matonhodze (26) was renting a shop at Chivi Growth Point with financial support from the married boyfriend Tapiwa Mabhiza (47).
Vongai from Takavarasha in Chivi was allegedly caught in the arms of another man on the day at the shop and Mabhiza diplomatically asked her to accompany him to an unknown destination as they discussed the issue.
They drove away in Mabhiza’s Funcargo and before leaving the Growth Point the car was stopped and the two started fighting.
Mabhiza allegedly hit the girlfriend in the head with an unknown object and she collapsed and died on the spot.
Mabhiza ran away from the scene into the mountains and had not been accounted for by the time of posting the story.
Masvingo Province police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the matter.
