CHIKOMBA-Thousands of youths thronged Muzana Complex at Chivhu Location Shops on Friday last week where a number of local artists and disc jockeys performed at a free anti-drug abuse show.

Residents hailed the artists’ noble gesture of joining the fight against drug abuse which has ruined a number of lives in the country. Drug awareness campaigns have grown more popular in recent years as drug abuse continue to rise amongst the youths.

Artists who participated at the show are Washer Vibes, Queen Shyn, Triple T and Krushall, who have all become household names in the transit town. Three Djs, Dj Mcdee, Dj Nheki, and Dj Nheki also regaled the youths at the bash.

One of the artist who performed at the show, Washer Vibes born Washington Mugabe told The Midweek Watch that the decision to hold an anti-drug awareness campaign was to educate youths on the dangers of drug abuse through entertainment.

“We decided to do a drug awareness show to warn and educate youths on how dangerous drugs can be to their lives through entertainment. As artist we believe that it is our duty to educate our societies and affecting communities in a positive way through our music.

“I would also like to express my gratitude to Mr Muzana who offered us a free venue,” said Washer Vibes.

Kestry Muzana who hosted the show at his lodge, Muzana Complex told The Midweek Watch that he decided to give the artists free venue in support of the movement.
