CHIREDZI- Trenah Dhingi (52) from Hippo Valley in Chiredzi, is appealing for financial assistance to help care for her son, Anenyasha Chimende (4) who is suffering from hydrocephalus, a condition that causes an abnormal build-up of fluid in the head.

In a phone interview with The Midweek Watch Dhingi said her son was healthy at birth but complications began when he was five months old. Since then, Anenyasha has been unable to sit or walk and spends most of his time lying down.
He underwent surgery in 2022 at Gomo Hospital in Harare where doctors inserted a shunt in his head to drain excess fluid.
Following the operation, Dhingi said there has been some improvement.
“Since the operation, he is now able to control his head. Before, I had to use a towel to support it,” she said.
However, Anenyasha still requires constant care and uses disposable diapers daily. Dhingi is seeking assistance to purchase pampers and raise funds for a scheduled medical review in Harare in early March.
She expressed gratitude to the Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe (AFM) Church in Chivaraidze, Hippo Valley which recently donated a wheelchair and 36 diapers to her family.
Well-wishers who would like to assist can contact Trenah Dhingi on 0777 352 439.
