Chipinge man dies in bicycle accident

Chipinge – A 20-year-old man from Mwadzinga Village under Chief Mutema in Chipinge tragically lost his life on October 25 following a bicycle accident along the Jopa-Kopa Road.

According to Manicaland Province Police Acting Spokesperson Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, the deceased, Agreement Mauraye, was riding a Buffalo pedal bicycle around 11:00 AM carrying a 17 year old boy.

As they approached the 10km peg near Rusitu Bridge, Mauraye reportedly lost control of the bicycle and collided with a bridge pillar.

The impact threw both of them onto the tarmac.

Mauraye sustained severe injuries, including bruises on his legs and bleeding from his private parts.

Despite efforts to save him, he died upon admission to the hospital. Mugidho survived the crash.

Inspector Chinyoka urged members of the public, especially young cyclists, to exercise extreme caution and ensure that bicycles are in good working condition before use.
