CHIPINGE-Police in Manicaland province has arrested Amos Nduna (48) for allegedly killing his brother over a vicious dog fight.

Nduna allegedly murdered his brother Rallion Chiambiro Nduna following a misunderstanding over dogs.

Criminal Investigation Development Community Relations Liaison Officer Detective Inspector Rachel Muteweri confirmed the incident to The Midweek Watch.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of Amos Nduna (48) of Farm 14, Ziyapenduka Village under Chief Mutema in connection with a case of murder,” he said

According to police details, it is alleged that on May 5, 2025 at around 0900hrs, Amos who had a long-standing dispute with the now deceased met the latter on his way to his banana plantation.

A heated argument ensued following a confrontation between their dogs but they were restrained from escalating the situation further and eventually parted ways.

Later during the day, Amos followed the now deceased to the banana plantation, where upon arrival he struck him multiple times all over the body with a machete.

The body of the victim was discovered the following day when his household helper reported for her routine duties and found the house locked.

Concerned, she decided to proceed to the banana plantation, where she made the horrific discovery of the victim lying in a pool of blood prompting her to file a police report.

On May 7, 2025, Amos was arrested at his home. A blood stained machete identified as his weapon was recovered from his bedroom along with the clothes he wore during the attack which were also blood stained.

Amos appeared before Chipinge Magistrate Cathrine Dzivanyika on May 8, 2025. He was remanded in custody to May 22, 2025 for routine remand.
