CHIKOMBA-Chikomba Rural District Council (RDC) has procured a US$178 250 grader in a bid to improve road maintenance in the district.
Chikomba also bought road maintenance machines which include a rammer and tippers in a bid to improve road network in the transit farming town.
The Council has been widely criticized for repossessing residential stands which it do not service and the new equipment will be used to create proper road networks and put in place sewage and water reticulation systems for the new suburbs.
Chikomba RDC Chief Executive Officer, Bullen Chiwara confirmed the latest development and said this is meant to improve road networks in the district.
“I can confirm that we have purchased a grader for US$178, 250.00 in a bid to improve road network in the district. We will see a change in road maintenance because now we have some machines which will help us in this endeavor,” said Chiwara.
