CHIKOMBA-It was all pomp and fanfare as hundreds of villagers gathered at Mpatsi Clinic in ward 26, Chikomba District for the commissioning of the rural health centre on Tuesday.
The clinic was commissioned by on the Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care and MP for Chikomba West, Dr John Mangwiro.
The heath facility was built by Chikomba RDC using devolution funds with the help of villagers.
Mpatsi Clinic will cater for more than one thousand villagers in Mpatsi area as well as other surrounding villages who walk more than 20 km to the nearest Gandachibvuva Clinic.
At the commissioning, Mangwiro reiterated the importance of devolution funds as they have helped Council to complete Mpatsi Clinic as well as other projects in the district.
Chikomba RDC CEO Bullen Chiwara expressed gratitude to the villagers for their cooperation during the construction of the clinic which will go along way in helping them access health facilities in the area.
“Devolution funds are so important because they help councils to complete their projects. Now villagers have now benefited from devolution funds through this clinic and we hope to continue. I would like to urge village heads to build more health centers,” said Mangwiro.
“I would like to express my gratitude to the villagers for their cooperation during the construction of the clinic,” said Chiwara.
The event was also attended by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Development, Felix Mhona.
