MASVINGO-Despite some murmurs of disapprovals from other members of the family, Silas Chikwanda will be installed as substantive Chief Chikwanda this Friday.
Chief director in the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works responsible for traditional leaders, Felix Chikovo confirmed the development to The Midweek Watch on the phone.
“Chief Chikwanda will be installed on Friday and the Minister of Local Government will be the guest of honor at the ceremony,” said Chikovo.
Silas Chikwanda who has been acting Chief Chikwanda since the death of his father Kadiwa Chikwanda in 2024 also confirmed the installation in a telephone interview.
“The installation will happen at Chikwanda Secondary School on Friday and you all invited to attend,” he said.
“The process did not follow proper channels,” he said.
