CHIRUMHANZU-Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Chirumanzu South candidate, Patrick Cheza is planning to tar the road from Chaka Business Centre connecting Hama in an effort to bring relief to villagers who are finding it hard to travel in the constituency.
The project which is set to start next week will see 46km of road network linking Chaka and Hama being rehabilitated in the first phase.
Cheza said this while addressing CCC women village point persons at Mapiravana Business Centre yesterday.
“From next week we will be embarking on roads rehabilitation program. Before weekend we want to start our roads rehabilitation project from Chaka linking to Hama. I am hoping that by next week we would have received our first delivery of materials.
“We don’t want to wait for the elections because this is not an election gimmick. We are going to start putting quarry stones and quarry dust preparing the way for tarring.
“This is the people’s project we are embarking on with my wife for the Chirumhanzu community and we have already sourced the resources for this initiative to be successful. We know, they will try to stop us but we will soldier on without any fear,” he said.
The CCC politician said most of the roads in the constituency are un-trafficable due to mismanagement of allocated funds by Zanu PF government.
Cheza widely touted as “Bhuru dema” in Chirumhanzu pledged to bring fresh development ideas as well as creating economic opportunities for the community.
He highlighted that “when there are passable roads, it will be easier for all villagers to take their farming produce to the markets travelling in safe roads”.
He said the Mapiravana meeting with village contact persons was to prepare and strategies for the upcoming harmonized elections, adding that his party will win resoundingly come August 23.
He lashed out at Zanu PF candidate Babra Rwodzi for terrorizing villagers who attend the CCC meetings.
“Zanu PF wanted to disrupt our meetings but they will not succeed. Be resilient and peaceful and prepare for celebrations because victory is certain. We are not going to be deterred by political intimidations and victimization because we want our freedoms and independence from Zanu PF bondage in Chirumhanzu. Thank you for coming in your numbers,” said Cheza.
He demanded justice for Police Assistant Inspector Matsa who has since been reported missing and issued with warrant of arrest after he stood up to incumbent MP Rwodzi for daring to investigate Zanu PF members.
“We want to know where is Matsa. Babra should tell us because she is the one who said will deal with the Inspector. We don’t want people in government who are intolerance and does not respect the law,” he charged.
He said economic revival under the current regime remains elusive adding “that the CCC government led by party leader Nelson Chamisa will grow Zimbabwe economy, fight corruption, end the country’s isolation from the family of nations as well as giving tittle deeds to all newly resettled farmers under the agrarian land reform program”.
