‎In a press statement released on 31 July, Tiringindi announced his candidature as an independent but guided by the leadership and vision of Nelson Chamisa. The seat fell vacant following the death of Councillor Tafara Masimba.

‎Born and raised in Rujeko, Tiringindi said he is no stranger to the challenges and aspirations of the people in the area. He cited a strong track record of activism, including exposing corruption at Masvingo City Council, advocating for affordable and clean water, and defending the rights of vendors and vulnerable groups.

‎Among his priorities are the construction of public toilets at Rujeko B shopping centre, modernizing vending markets, improving road infrastructure, and expanding youth and recreational spaces.

‎Tiringindi vowed to continue promoting inclusive development and transparent service delivery. “I believe in people-driven leadership grounded in justice, dignity, and service. As your Councillor, I will be a true voice for Ward 7 and Masvingo City,” he said.

‎The Nomination Court for the by-election sits on 14 August at the Civic Centre.
