Chaka Business Center in the district of Chirumhanzu is mostly in the news for the wrong reasons, fatal accidents along the busy highway.
Today the 5th of June 2025, Chaka business centre stood in amazement watching five abnormal trucks en-route to Goromonzi lithium mine. We failed to get the real name of the mine they were heading to in Goromonzi, as drivers of the trucks curtly told us they were heading to Goromonzi lithium mine.
And when we asked what they were carrying, they also appeared to be little bit unsure. Then l gave them a clue, ‘ if they are boilers or smelters of some sort’. And one driver said they were smelters. And also told us three of the trucks had gone the previous day with such cargo to Goromonzi.
As a proudly Zimbabwean l said” Zimbabwe is moving ahead, and very soon our brothers in foreign lands will come back home”. All my friends despite being clever blacks agreed in unison. With such big investments like the Manhize steel project in the Midlands province and the Goromonzi lithium plant in Mashonaland East, our country will make a difference. With proper governance structures in place and competent personnel, Zimbabwe is almost there.
As a country which has experienced sanctions for almost three decades now. I think we have failed to wilt, and now the opportunity is ours. As America is misfiring and confusing itself, let us embrace it and all other countries willing to work with us. Cuba has been sanctioned for almost a century by America and its allies, but it remained resolute.
The Harare-Masvingo – Chirundu highways are examples of the country’s stance against unsanctioned sanctions; which the US and its cohorts are propagating. All in the name of democracy and human rights. The Republic of South Africa is also being warned and cautioned against treating members of the “Boeremag” rough. The same “Verwoerds” who eliminated black South Africans willy-nilly during the rule of the apartheid regime are now endangered species. Black South Africans were never and are still dysgenic.
The Western world was nowhere by then to teach the world morals during the Scramble for Africa. Africa to move forward it must stop snitching against each member country. It must stop accommodating foreign military bases in the continent. It must act like the League of Nations or the European Economic Community. Injury to one is injury to all, like what they did to Zimbabwe in year 2000. They all pulled out of it and started attacking it left, right and centre. The late president Robert G. Mugabe outfoxed them in the United Nations meetings but they remained very unwelcome to his country.
Africa must refrain from being the punch bag or springboard of conflicts. Wars are made in the western world, protectionism and imperialism are by products of the western world. In Africa we share the little that we have, we accommodate and give comfort to all visitors. They maybe black, white, Jew or gentile, Africa is home to mankind and a cradle of civilization.
