GUTU-Chagwiza Primary School in Gutu South ward 31 has begun the 2025 academic year on a promising note, following the successful installation of a 3kV solar system.

The school head Tobaiwa Musendekwa confirmed to The Midweek Watch saying, this development is expected to provide a reliable source of energy for the school, enhancing the learning environment for its students.
“The installation, which cost US$1 200, is a significant milestone for the school, and is in line with its guiding theme for 2025: “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work,” said Musendekwa.
Parents have welcomed the development, expressing their gratitude to the school administration and stakeholders who made the project a reality.
“We are thrilled with the new solar system, which will undoubtedly improve our children’s learning experience. We appreciate the efforts of the school administration and everyone involved in making this project a success,” said Chido Chikwava, a parent.
Another parent, Tinashe Machingura echoed similar sentiments.
“The solar system will go a long way in reducing the school’s energy costs, and we are confident that it will have a positive impact on our children’s education,” said Machingura.
Chagwiza has an enrolment of 230 learners.
The installation of the solar system is a way of providing a conducive learning environment for its students, and is expected to inspire other schools to follow suit.
