Masvingo State Minister Ezra Chadzamira who is credited for proposing renaming the Mbudzi Interchange to Trabablas due to his loyalty to President Mangangwa has done it again, giving the same name to a Kenyan tree.

Chadzamira named the imported Croton tree, Trabablas soon after planting it at Junior High School during the national monthly clean-up campaign which coincided with the World Environment Day belated commemorations.
During the tree planting ceremony, the Forestry Commission of Zimbabwe donated six Kenyan Croton trees, known for their beautiful foliage and ecological importance.
The event not only emphasized the importance of environmental conservation but also fostered a sense of community and responsibility among the participants.
The naming of the tree “Trabablas Dzokerai Mabhunu” by Chadzamira comes just a week after the Trabablas Interchange in Harare was officially opened.
Edwin Machokoto, Masvingo Provincial Manager of the Forestry Commission of Zimbabwe said the Kenyan Croton trees are valued for their decorative purposes and the seed oil extracted from them is used in the production of cosmetics.
“The tree donation and plantation exercise aimed to promote environmental conservation and sustainability, while also highlighting the importance of trees in our ecosystem,” said Machokoto.
Other dignitaries who participated in the tree planting exercise included Permanent Secretary Dr. Addmore Pazvakavambwa, who named his tree “Ezra Chadzamira Chitova”. Mayor Aleck Tabe, Provincial Education Director Shylatte Mhike, and Junior High School head Stern Mutsambiwa who planted the remaining trees.
The Forestry Commission’s initiative to donate trees and promote environmental conservation is a step in the right direction towards a greener country and eco-friendly nation.
