…calls for peaceful campaigning period

MASVINGO – Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution and also the MP for Masvingo West Constituency, Ezra Chadzamira has launched the campaign for August 23 elections.
The launch was held at Mashava township where thousands of Zanu PF supporters thronged the mining community to listen to their aspiring MP and Masvingo Politiburo and executive members articulating the party’s electoral road map for the August 23 elections.
Chadzamira urged party members to campaign peacefully in their respective wards to ensure that the party wins resoundingly in the watershed plebiscite.
“I am very happy for such an overwhelming attendance for the constituency’s official campaign launch, but all I am preaching to all of you is peace and please by all means possible campaign for Zanu PF peacefully in your respective wards and cells so that we attain 5 million votes for our President Cde E.D. Mnangagwa,” said Chadzamira.
He went on to say that they are launching a constituency campaign after the President Mnangagwa launched the national campaign in Manicaland province in Chipinge last month and assured all those who came for the launch that victory is certain.
Zanu PF Masvingo provincial chairperson, Rabson Mavhenyengwa also urged all the party leaders to work hard for the revolutionary party to ensure that it wins.
“I am urging all the chairpersons and those leading in the campaigns to do their campaigns in a manner that will make more people want to vote for Zanu PF rather than create conflict ahead of the general elections,” said Mavhenyengwa.
The launch was also graced by the Minister of State responsible for Agriculture Colleges, Water Resources, and Irrigation Development, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Davis Marapira, aspiring Masvingo Urban Constituency Wellington Mawende among others.
