CHIREDZI-As part of the National Development Strategy 1 where housing delivery is one of the key pillars, Shineplus Housing Development Trust has not only serviced the stands, but has gone on to tar the major roads.

This Friday the Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Ezra Chadzamira will officially commission the tarred roads in medium and low density Shineplus Park in the sugarcane producing town of Chiredzi.

“All is set for the official commissioning of the tarred 4.7km of road in the medium and low density Shineplus Park. We completed the civil works recently and we are very excited with the development as the residents are enjoying good services from the Private Public Partnership where we partnered with Chiredzi Town Council to deliver this project,” said Shineplus operations manager, Charles Mushinga.

Mushinga added that they are delivering the stands to the public at cost as part of Shineplus’ contribution to NDS1 housing delivery.

All the new roads at Shineplus Park will be tarred to international standards as the country is now prone to frequent cyclones hence the need for durable infrastructure, he also added.

Chiredzi Town Chairman, Alderman Gibson Hwende was impressed by the work that Shineplus has done in the sugarcane producing town which is the most economically active district in Masvingo Province.

The roads construction is being done in partnership with Chiredzi Town Council after having done the same in the development of over 500 stands in the suburb since 2018.

The project’s completion was affected by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic which did not allow gatherings as the disease was at its peak.

Another major road that Shineplus has done is the Chiredzi Drive which links Chiredzi CBD with the fast growing Shineplus Park.

“We are very happy with what Shineplus is doing and as we are approaching the rain season and the tarred road could not have come at a better time. Chiredzi Drive is going to decongest our roads as it allows free flow of traffic especially during the morning and evening rush hours.

“The construction of infrastructure and shelter is one of the pillars of the National Development Strategy 1, so we are in the right direction as a town.

“This development will bring in a lot of investors once we have trafficable roads because this is what investors want, unfettered access to services through good roads,” said Alderman Hwende.
