GWERU-Four cattle rustlers  appeared before a Gweru Magistrate  today, facing allegations of stealing 27 beasts from  Stains Farm in Gweru.

Chido Machingura (18),  Nehemia Muza (70), Shepherd Muza (43) all  from Kwekwe and Yvonne Ndabazonke (24) from Ivene Gweru, were not asked to plead to stock theft charges when they appeared before Magistrate Mariam Banda who remanded them  in custody to the 9th of February 2023 for bail application.

The court heard that on 31 January 2023,  Ndabazonke who is reportedly to be the ex-wife to the complainant Peter Tandari,  teamed up with her accomplices and  went to Stains Farm where they stole 27 cattle.

Together with Machingura, they drove the cattle to Plot 16 Riverside B Farm in Kwekwe where they left them in the custody of Nehemia.

It is further alleged that the cattle were being headed at the Plot by Shepherd Muza.

The four were arrested last Friday by police on  special operation against stock theft.

The stolen cattle are valued at  US$15 000 and all were recovered.

Abiata Mugari of Gundu, Dube and Pamacheche legal practitioners represented Chido Machingura.

 Christine Shoniwa prosecuted.
