Buy Zimbabwe conference set for March

HARARE-Preparations for the Buy Local Conference are at an advanced stage, with the event aimed to showcase local excellence.

 Championed by Buy Zimbabwe, the conference is slated to take place at the Harare International Conference Centre on March 19, 2026, running under the theme “Lowering Zimbabwe’s import Bill driving local Industrial Growth”.

In an interview with The Midweek Watch, Buy Zimbabwe marketing executive Alois Burutsa said the conference is aimed to promote the importance of buying local products and to showcase the incredible talent and creativity that thrived within the country’s borders.

He said the conference is aimed to unite consumers businesses and policymakers in a collective effort to strengthen the local economy and industrial growth.

“Preparations for the Buy local conference to be held at the Harare International Conference Centre are at an advanced stage.  The conference will be held on March 19 ,2026 with the aim to promote local products.

“Our key note speaker at the upcoming Conference will be the Speaker of Parliament Hon Jacob Mudenda,” he said.

He said the conference will be graced by CEOs from influential entities such as Mutapa Investment Fund, Arda, Zimplats, Teecherz Home and Furnitures, Saint Gobein among others.

He urged local companies to attend the conference so that they create economic relations with other companies within the country.

Buy Zimbabwe is led by founder and chief executive officer, veteran media practitioner Munyaradzi Hwengwere.
