Masvingo -The highly anticipated meeting between Aldermen and the Masvingo Business Advisory Board, scheduled for today, has been postponed indefinitely due to poor attendance from the business community. Less than 20 representatives from the business sector turned up, falling short of expectations.
Danister Jori, the finance director of Masvingo City Council, expressed concern over the poor turnout, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the city’s economic challenges.
“It is disheartening to see such poor attendance, especially when the business community has so much to gain from these discussions,” said Jori.
City Mayor, Aleck Tabe, also weighed in on the matter, stressing the significance of active participation from the business sector.
“The input of our business leaders is crucial in shaping the city’s economic landscape, we urge them to take this opportunity seriously and engage constructively,” Tabe said.
The postponement has sparked concerns about the business community’s commitment to contributing to Masvingo’s development.
A new date for the meeting will be announced in due course.
