Tihaise Darlin Elisha (19) and Taylor Tamara Simone (21) were convicted and sentenced for unlawful dealing in dangerous drugs.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe confirmed the sentencing of the two for drug smuggling in Harare.
“Two British nationals, Tihaise Darlin (19) and Taylor Tamara Simone (21) were convicted and sentenced by the Harare Magistrates’ Court for unlawful dealing in dangerous drugs, after being caught with 66.415kg of dagga at Robert Mugabe International Airport on May 1, 2025,” reads NPAZ statement.
The couple’s suspicious behaviour prompted detectives from CID drugs and narcotics to search their four suitcases.
The two British nationals who arrived aboard an Ethiopian Airways were found in possession of 53 packets of cannabis hidden in red and brown luggage tagged with their names.
The arrest of the two comes as Zimbabwean authorities have declared war on drug peddlers amid an upsurge in drug and substance abuse especially among the youth.
