Boy (4) drowns in Nyanga dam while mother was weeding

NYANGA-A four year old boy drowned in a dam in Nyanga while the mother was weeding 20m from the scene, Manicaland Provincial Deputy Police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector, Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the unfortunate incident that occurred on Tuesday.

Chinyoka told The Midweek Watch that, Tiriwashe Musinga of Sambaza Village under Chief Mutasa in Nyanga went with his mother Patience Matsatsa (31) to the garden where she wanted to weed her maize.

Mutsatsa left Tiriwashe playing alone while she attend to her maize. After finishing weeding, Mutsatsa called Tiriwashe but she could not locate him. Mutsatsa started looking for him around the garden and she saw him floating in a dam about 20m from where she was working.

Mutsatsa called a relative Fidelis Musinga who was working in the next garden.

Musinga retrieved the body and made a police report and police attended the scene.
