MBERENGWA- A solitary goal by in-form Energy Chakweya was enough to help Black Eagles edge closer to gaining promotion to the unfashionable world of Central Division One league after getting the better of 13 Stars FC in a pulse-setting match at Simbi Stadium.

The victory made sure they maintained pole position on the Midlands Province ZIFA Division 2A log table and already, they have one hand on the championship trophy.

The result meant that Black Eagles have now amassed 38 points, four points ahead of the second-placed team and still have a match in hand.

The league still has four more games before the curtain comes down, that is, 18 out of 22 matches have since been played so far.

Black Eagles team manager, Wilbert Zveshure has been quoted on numerous occasions saying his team was already preparing for life in Division One.

“We are now preparing for life in the second tier of Zimbabwean football. As it is, we have won the league,” Zveshure is always quoted as saying.

However, they are facing serious competition from Mbesa FC as well as Chachacha FC.
