Chiredzi-In an incident that left Hlengani villagers in Chiredzi with their mouths open two boys teamed to stone a crocodile in a river to death and dragged it home as trophy.

The two juveniles from Hlengani village under Chief Tshovani Chiredzi, stoned a young crocodile to death which was swimming across Machoka stream that runs through the village.
The two boys, who were returning from a soccer game at the local playground, spotted the crocodile swimming across Machoka stream, which runs through their village.
They then proceeded to drag the dead dangerous reptile by its tail, allegedly to show their parents proof of their daring feat.
Villagers who witnessed the scene were shocked and promptly called the police and the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority, who took the dead giant reptile away.
Deputy Police Spokesperson Masvingo Province, Assistant Inspector Masauso Patinyu, confirmed the incident to the Midweek Watch.
“We are advising parents to talk to their kids about staying away from danger. These things can be fatal,”
“No action is being taken against the two boys, with authorities likely considering their age and the circumstances of the incident,” said Patinyu.
