Bikita Rulers rules the roost

BIKITA- lt is certainly Bikita’s year in terms of football promotions. First, it was Bikita Minerals FC that got won the only ticket from the ZIFA Eastern Region Soccer League into the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

Now their namesake, Bikita Rulers, true to their name ruled the roost on the day of promotional play offs that were played at Pamushana Grounds last week on Saturday as they will be playing Division One football come next year.

They outclassed GZU 4-2 on penalties after playing out to a one all draw in regulation time.

The tournament featured eight teams namely 

Bikita Rulers, Nyika FC, Rangers City FC, Chiremwaremwa FC, Amayezha FC, Masvingo Christian FC, GZU FC and  Chamupupuri Tigers FC.

GZU and Rulers reached the finals in the round robin tournament.

ZIFA Masvingo Province administrator, Cleopatra Matinhure told The Midweek that the tournament was a huge success and the teams played entertaining football on the day and all were hungry for promotion into the second tier of the most beautiful game.

Matinhure said Bikita Rulers are bound to play D1 football if they meet the requirements of the region and hopefully getting sponsorship ahead of the season.

“Bikita Rulers won the playoffs and the win means they are in line for promotion to D1 football in the coming season “, she said.
