BIKITA- After missing out last year due to financial issues, Bikita Rulers FC have done it again as they will be playing in the ZIFA Eastern Region Soccer League Division 1 in 2025 after defeating GP Timers FC 4-3 in the playoffs final of the ZIFA Masvingo Bikita Division 2 soccer league.

This is the second time the club is winning the playoffs after they did it again last but however failed to play D1 football after failing to get sponsorship.

The club had a splendid 2024 season just registering a single loss and a single draw in 20 matches which saw them finishing top of the log with 55 points, 13 points ahead of second placed GP Timers.

Rulers were formed in 2011 as a Ward based team and officially joined Division 2 league in 2019 but was affected by Covid 19.lt was last year when they started waves in the league and finished fourth earning themselves a spot in the playoffs which they eventually won.

Football is run by money as there are issues to do with transport costs, paying affiliation fees, payment of match officials when playing at home as well as security services besides player upkeep, this is what made them not to play D1 football this as they had no definite sponsorship.

Speaking to The Midweek Watch Bikita Rulers manager Joshua Muvhangeri Dzivakwi said he is happy the team won the playoffs and this time he is not giving up.

“We missed out D1 football last time out due to the fact that we had financial constraints and now we are back after winning the playoffs. We are appealing to well wishers to come on board and assist in any way possible as we have assembled a strong team that is ready to compete at any level, our target next year is promotion into the Premier League,” he said oozing with confidence.
