BIKITA-Ninety two year old opposition stalwart, Sanangurai Pedzisai Museti from Museti Village, Headman Mutsimba under Chief Mazungunye in Bikita has died.

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Ward 15 Councillor, Samson Dzinodya confirmed the sad news to The Midweek Watch and said Museti was laid to rest yesterday (Wednesday) at his homestead in Bikita.

Museti died on February 5 while at home after the wife had gone to fetch firewood to warm themselves in the kitchen hut, Dzinodya added.

His body was taken to Silveira Hospital where he was confirmed dead on the same day.

National executive members of CCC party and tens of mourners from Bikita and beyond gathered at Museti homestead for a befitting send off of their colleague.

Museti joined opposition politics in 1999 together with the late much loved Morgan Tsvangirai to form the once formidable MDC and has been ward treasurer in Bikita until the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife and eight children.
