Bikita Minerals workers bash Chinese boss over poor salaries

Date:

A group of Zimbabwean workers took matters into their own hands when their Chinese boss failed to pay their salaries on time. The mine workers from Bikita took turns to b*at up their Chinese boss for failing to pay their salaries.

The video, which has been shared on social media, shows the workers from Bikita still wearing work suits taking turns to beat up their Chinese boss.

At the beginning of the video, one worker boldly approaches the Chinese employer, demanding to know where their money is. The Chinese boss responds dismissively, saying, “Yeah, I know.” The worker then double-claps the Chinese boss.

Other workers in the video caution against striking the boss in the face. The situation intensifies, with the Chinese boss eventually being stripped of his shirt and struck with a belt by the enraged employees.

The enraged Zimbabwean workers continue to press the Chinese boss about their unpaid wages. After being struck with the belt, the boss falls to the ground and pretends to lose consciousness.

 However, the workers promptly lift him back up, indicating that they are not finished with him before the video concludes.

The release of the video prompted a flurry of reactions from Zimbabweans on X. The majority of Zimbabwean users expressed solidarity with the workers and their frustrations. Here are some of the reactions:

@AubreyRanganai:

Why can’t they pay on time because these guys work more than 12hrs per day and they fail to pay them

@meekcd:He is going to call his big brother.. Jackie Chan

@RChipakula:

Police Yet to Comment on Incident

As of now, law enforcement authorities have not provided an official statement regarding the incident. However, it’s worth noting that the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has previously taken action against individuals involved in videos depicting acts of violence that were shared on social media.

One notable instance resulted in the arrest and conviction of women who were recorded assaulting an alleged husband snatcher in Hatcliffe. online
