MASVINGO- A 51-year old Early Childhood Development (ECD) teacher from Bikita has been arraigned before the Masvingo Regional Court for sucking blood from two ECD learners.
She was remanded in custody to June 30, 2025 for continuation of trial.
According to court records, the two alleged cases occurred between May 20 and June 5, 2025 at a local primary school under Chief Budzi in Bikita District.
It is alleged that on the said period, the accused sucked blood from the fingers of two leaners under her care without the knowledge and consent of their parents.
The matter came to light when one of the victims’ parent noticed wounds on their child’s fingers while bathing.
Upon questioning, the victim revealed the shocking incident, a development which prompted the parent to approach the school.
Another leaner also surfaced with similar reports resulting in the teacher being arrested.
