MASVINGO-The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) is set to host the Commissioner-General’s Goodwill Trust Fund Golf Tournament on Friday 27 March 2026 at Masvingo Golf Club, in a bid to raise funds for vulnerable members within its community.

The tournament which will be played in a Better Ball format, is part of ongoing efforts to support orphaned children of ZPCS members as well as widows, widowers and officers who were injured in the line of duty.

The tournament’s main sponsor is Byword Motors as well as Jadecon Engineering, Econet Wireless, NetOne, Masvingo City, Nyaradzo Group, Great Zimbabwe Realtors, Jadecon Construction, Lulu’s Events Management, Moonlight Provident Associates, jadecon Foods, Paragoan Infrastructural Engineering Services and Exor (Makovah).

Participants are expected to pay an entry fee of US$30 per individual or US$120 per four-ball team with proceeds going directly towards the welfare initiatives under the Commissioner-General’s Goodwill Trust Fund.

ZPCS Masvingo Provincial Public Relations Officer, Correctional Officer Grade 3 Chamaida Tendai Lessley, said the event presents an opportunity for stakeholders and the public to come together through sport while contributing to a noble cause.

“This tournament is not only about promoting golf but also about extending a helping hand to families of our members who are facing difficult circumstances,” said Chamaida.

The event is expected to draw golfers and supporters from across the province, creating a platform for both recreation and social responsibility.

Members of the public, corporates and golf enthusiasts are encouraged to participate and support the initiative.

For more information, interested participants can contact C/Officer Grade 3 Chamaida on 077 609 5310.

The tournament is set to combine sport and charity, reinforcing the importance of community support within the correctional services fraternity.
