Beitbridge’s St Joseph defends choral title

Chiredzi- Beitbridge based St Joseph has retained the Roman Catholic Masvingo Dioceses choral trophy after outclassing 34 other parishes.
The competitions were held at held at St Barbara Bangala Mission in Renco recently and was attended by hundreds of Catholic faithfuls.
They competed over the set piece “Zvinodikanwa na Tenzi” song composed by Professor Albert Munyanyi under the choral competitions theme “Pilgrims of Hope” which is in line with the church’s year of prayer in preparation for the Diocese’s jubilee celebrations next year.
Good Shepherd Chiredzi choir came second, Bondolfi College third, St Peter and Paul fourth, St Don Bosco parish fifth, Gokomere mission sixth, Silveira mission seventh, Michael’s Gutu eighth, Holy Trinity ninth and Maraire mission tenth.
The trophies were sponsored by Gramsaw publishers company.
Spiritual Director of Masvingo choir’s Association, Fr Mafusire said that the event was a success for all since 99.9% of the choirs were satisfied with the fair results which were displayed by the adjudicators.
Lutumba choir, Makambe and St Vitalis Neshuro despite being small parishes were honored and awarded trophies for their commitment towards the annual competitions.
