The appointed referee is a well known Masvingo United supporter in Masvingo City especially at Sisk Business Centre. If there is a powerful sign of match fixing it was by appointing a local well known Masvingo United supporter to handle the derby. The referee saw a Masvingo United player elbowing Phines Malcolm Dhliwayo but was not red carded. Dlyon Simango was brought down in the box but the referee waved play on. Masvingo United were very rough but were not cautioned at all. In the first half we had lots of stoppages but the Referee ended the first half after 43min of play,”
